Personal Information Received From the EU: The Forensic Technology Services (FTS) practice at Grant Thornton supports clients in identifying and forensically copying original source evidence in the context of litigation and/or forensic investigations. In addition, FTS engagements usually involve electronic processing of this forensic evidence, extracting a subset of the data for further review. With the assistance of the client, FTS can set parameters for what data is pertinent to the engagement (i.e. files created or modified within specific date ranges, specific file types, files containing specific key words, etc.).
For some engagements, FTS can be called upon to review documents under the direction of the client. For others, FTS will host this data on a secure platform allowing client personnel to review the data from a remote site.
The core competency of the FTS professional lies in the forensic acquisition, preservation, management, and production of electronic data in accordance with legal guidelines and the rules of evidence. This process involves the use of industry recognized forensic hardware and/or software.
