In the addition to the parameters set forth above, which cannot be deviated from, certain performance characteristics must be satisfied. The primary end use for this fabric is rental formalwear shirts, which must withstand multiple wearings and launderings (up to 40) during the course of their useful life (three to five years). These performance requirements are as follows:

· Vertical and horizontal shrinkage must be less than 1%

· Color retention for all colors after 40 launderings must be rated between 4.5 and on a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being no change). These requirements apply equally to dyed fabric in all shades – primarily white, ivory and black solid fabric, to roller printed striped fabric and heat embossed tone on tone fabric.

· Elmendorff tear strength must range from 2.95 lbs. to 3.61 lbs. and
average 3.28 lbs.

· Tensile strength must range from 58.477 lbs. to 67.967 lbs and
average 64.433 lbs.
