This database will allow U.S. industry stakeholders to search for legislation that is being considered by the House Committee on Ways and Means and the Senate Finance Committee (trade-related legislation), or by other Committees of Congress, to change the tariff structure for imported products, to provide trade preferences to certain countries, to establish tariff rate quota programs, to deal with intellectual property rights, labeling, etc. This database only includes legislation that could potentially impact the U.S. man-made fiber, textiles, apparel, footwear, and travel goods industries; it is not exhaustive and inclusive of all such legislation.
Further information on Congressional Committees with jurisdiction over international trade-related legislative initiatives of interest to man-made fiber, textile, apparel, footwear, and travel goods’ producers, exporters, importers, and others can be found at the Senate Finance Committee and at the House Committee on Ways and Means. A more comprehensive listing on all types of legislation may be found by searching Thomas, legislative information from the Library of Congress.
