Morocco Sourcing Show
Casablanca, Morocco,
November 28 - December 1, 2007
NEW SALES OPPORTUNITIES: 2-way trade with Morocco now looks even better. The U.S. and Morocco signed a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) that went into effect January 1st, 2006. The elimination of duties and a variety of non-tariff barriers have further opened the Moroccan market to U.S. products.
MATCHMAKING for profit: To create awareness of FTA benefits to US exporters, and to stimulate trade between the two countries, the US Department of Commerce is sponsoring a USA pavilion at the upcoming Morocco Sourcing show, Nov.28- Dec. 1, to introduce US sellers to business and sales opportunities in Morocco. The show offers matchmaking appointments for US sellers with Moroccan companies.

WHY MOROCCO? Morocco has been a major production hub for high fashion, design, and quality apparel for European name brands as well as major U.S. brands. Currently, Morocco seeks U.S. fabrics and inputs to qualify for duty free import into the United States as stipulated under the FTA. In addition, Morocco is so fashionable now that it is considered the St. Tropez of Northern Africa. Tourism is up, prompting the development of small and large luxurious hotels across the country. Therefore, technical textiles will be needed for construction and infrastructure.

Morocco is ripe to become a new export market for U.S. apparel, home/contract/hospitality and technical textiles.
